Consensus of Engagement

As a Member or Partner of the TGCRVOAD:

Shared Values and Principles

We affirm the TGCRVOAD commitment to Communication, Coordination, Cooperation, and Collaboration as guiding principles in all phases of disaster work.

We recognize that no single organization has all the answers for all the challenges that arise during disasters.

We recognize that by working together, acting as partners, and learning from each other, we can more effectively respond to a disaster and help rebuild a community.

We will foster a climate of cooperation with all Members, Partners, and government, striving to coordinate our responses and provide effective service to impacted communities, rather than working competitively

We seek to match TGCRVOAD resources and ser-vices to needs by recognizing the strengths and as-sets of each Member and Partner organization.

We commit to maintaining and adhering to a formal, written non-discrimination policy and to ensuring that our services and resources are provided without dis-crimination regarding race, creed, gender, or age.

Communication, Information Sharing & Collaboration

Participate in shared collaboration platforms, such as Aid.Arena, to enhance coordination, information exchange, and unified service delivery across all responding organizations.

We will safeguard sensitive or personal information collected during operations and share only what is necessary to support coordinated and effective ser-vice delivery.

We will participate in blue-sky preparedness activities, including training, exercises, and planning, to strengthen our collective readiness before disasters occur.

We will listen to each other, maintain open channels of communication, and engage in regular information sharing about our capacities, accomplishments, and commitments.

We will work to form strategic partnerships and estab-lish shared goals for effective service delivery throughout the disaster cycle.

We will work together to each undertake specific pro-jects that help achieve those goals.

Participation & Representation

We commit to having a representative for at least two-thirds of the scheduled General Membership and Special General Membership Meetings.

We commit to sending knowledgeable representatives to TGCRVOAD meetings who understand our resources and services and can commit our organizationโ€™s resources to support a TGCRVOAD initiative.

We support the committees and work groups and will have at least one representative serve on a workgroup or committee each year.

Reporting Discipline & Operational Ac-countability

We commit to maintaining consistent situational reporting during activations, including checking in upon deployment and checking out upon demobilization.

We will participate in TGCRVOAD coordination and collaboration calls and submit daily SitReps that document our activities, locations served, resource needs, and observations.

We recognize that these reporting practices ensure shared situational awareness, strengthen coordination with emergency management partners, and support equitable and effective service delivery across all responding organizations.

We will coordinate our deployment activities with the appropriate emergency management authorities and refrain from self-deployment or initiating response operations without appropriate notification and alignment.

We will maintain systems and processes to credential our volunteers, ensuring they are properly vetted, trained, and prepared to represent our organization in coordinated disaster response activities.

Requirements for Good Standing and Voting Eligibility

We acknowledge that to be in good standing and eligible to vote, we must (1) pay our dues in full; (2) ensure our organization keeps its contact and profile information up to date so that effective collaboration and coordination with other Members and Partners is possible; (3) designate a Primary Representative who can serve as our organizationโ€™s voice in TGCRVOAD meetings and activities.
