We’re asking every TGCRVOAD Member and Partner to put the Consensus of Engagement into action by designating at least one representative to serve on a committee or workgroup this year—this is where our coordination, readiness, and real-world capability get built before the next activation. Membership & Engagement Committee
Help strengthen the TGCRVOAD network by recruiting and onboarding new Members/Partners, keeping rosters current, supporting good-standing compliance, and encouraging meaningful participation across meetings, workgroups, and activations. If you care about growing a healthy, inclusive VOAD culture built on the 4Cs—and making sure every Member knows how to plug in—this committee is where that work happens.
Education & Training Committee
Build practical readiness across the region by identifying training gaps, developing and delivering workshops/exercises, curating SMEs and resources, and tracking participation so we collectively get better each year. Join this committee if you want to raise baseline capability, expand cross-training, and ensure we’re not learning critical lessons for the first time during a disaster.
Communications Committee
Keep Members aligned and the public informed through clear internal updates, consistent external messaging, and strong digital platforms (website, newsletters, listservs, social media, and incident communications). If you have a gift for clarity, storytelling, or information flow—especially when it matters most—this committee helps the whole network move faster and smarter.
Operational Collaboration Committee
Turn “we should coordinate” into real, repeatable processes by mapping capabilities, improving activation workflows, convening operational workgroups (feeding, debris, chainsaw, muck & gut, casework, etc.), and capturing after-action improvements. Join if you like building systems that make deployments smoother, reduce friction with EM partners, and help Members deliver complementary missions at scale.
Spontaneous Volunteer Committee
Make sure spontaneous unaffiliated volunteers are a help, not a hazard by building intake/credentialing workflows, safety guidance, assignment and demobilization protocols, and blue-sky training for Members and partners. If you care about safe, well-managed volunteer power that protects survivors, volunteers, and organizations, this committee is essential.
Individual, Family, and Community Resources Committee
Strengthen survivor outcomes by improving the membership directory, building county-level resource/service lists, and analyzing gaps between what communities need and what the VOAD network can provide—then turning those insights into better coordination. If you’re wired for resource mapping, service navigation, or closing unmet needs, this is high-impact work.
